Heritage Days Youth Contest
A fun time was had by the brave few who came out to take on the challenge of the Heritage Days Youth of the Year Contest. the Heritage Days Youth of the Year contest is a preparatory event designed to introduce participants to the American Morgan Horse Association's Youth of the Year program. The contest incorporates four tests designed to challenge a young equestrian's horsemanship skills. Divisions included are oral presentation, ridden horsemastership pattern, judging test and equine knowledge quiz.
Our overall Champion Cassie Mayer with Wildmoors Amelia Airehart receiving a blue ribbon, medal and custom made tack trunk for her efforts! Cassie excelled in all four divisions and the judging panel thoroughly enjoyed her reflections on her favorite Morgan horse shared during the oral presentation portion of the contest. Our Reserve Champion, Stephanie Henderson, not only put on a top notch performance, but juggled the demands of the contest while acting as the Show Secretary's right hand woman too! Special thanks goes to Amanda Barrell who acted as co-judge and contest coordinator and Bill Ryan for designing and building our tack trunk prize!

Chuck A Duck at Heritage Days
The Justin Morgan Youth Group has been trying to be more active and have more of presence, so our reprise to the Chuck-
a-Duck fundraiser at the Vermont Spring Classic was another of the same fundraiser at the Morgan Heritage Days. The president of the VMHA was rumored to chuck some of our (plastic) feathered friends. We made $190 on the Chuck-a-Duck because the victorious duck chucker, Ken Vikse of Woodstock,Vt donated his share of the prize money back to the JMYG.Thank you Ken!
The JMYG also stripped stall to save some of of the exhibitors time at end of show. This fundraiser helped the club raise an additional $150 dollars, bringing the total for the show up to $340. A big round of applause goes to everyone who supported the JMYG at Heritage Days!
Don't worry, no ducks will be harmed during the Justin Morgan Youth Group's quest to ge to the 2011 AMHA National Convention in Boston.
